Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents divorced to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Even though she had financial difficulties in 2001, her debut came in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. The television film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she was a main actor for the first two seasons, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace decided to concentrate on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She also was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. She played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace was Shannon once more in the show's finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the 6th season. She plays Faith an actress who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the eye of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Gyllenhaal is a member of her family, and is the older cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in her father's movies and co-starred with her older brother in Donnie Darko, a cult classic. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her leading performances in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in during 2006. She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a director, screenwriter and script writer. she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
