Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was a kid she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. From the age of six Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actor and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. As part of a school production and a Stagecoach show, she was her role as lead actress at 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three leading young actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma was awarded five nominations for her outstanding performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
